Cellar

Fattoria La Striscia has been owned by the Occhini Family since the eighteenth century. Just 900 meters from the old city walls, it consists of 14 hectares of south-facing vineyards registered as DOCG Chianti.
Since 2001 the company has entered a stage of renewal. With the replantation of all the property’s vineyards and the adaptation of the old winery, it has established itself as a producer of elegant, pleasant, and typical wines. The winery, whose ancient origins are documented since 1850, has always operated with particular care towards the territory. In light of these efforts, it was awarded certification for its organic production in 2013.
For the production of the wine, optimally ripe grapes undergo fermentation with ambient yeasts in glass-lined cements vats. Malolactic fermentation occurs in barriques and large oak botti, where the wine matures for at least 12 months. The wine is then bottled in the villa’s underground cellars, characterised by their massive 15th-century walls and vaulted ceilings.

After a walk through the vineyards and a visit to the winery we offer a tasting of our wines and typical products of the area.
